WITH THE RELIEF OF RESTRICTIONS
we will be able to meet inside
the church building!
This does not mean you have to meet in person, everyone has their own comfort zones, and we encourage you to take things at a pace you are comfortable with.
If you are high risk or just not comfortable coming back inside just yet, we will continue to provide an online service each week available on Facebook, Youtube and our website- sutherlandchurch.org
We will also continue to provide a local radio broadcast. We will no longer be on KCHE, but will provide our own broadcast of the service on 89.9FM. This will be available for those within a half-mile radius of the church. Anyone not comfortable coming inside yet is more than welcome to pull up to the church and tune in.
For those ready to begin attending again in person, there will be some changes to our normal for the month of May. The first change is we will be worshipping in the gym. This will allow us to more easily social distance while meeting. Putting together chairs in family groups or people who are already counter exposed to one another. Between these groups we will leave 6 feet of space in order to comply with government regulations.
This will also be helpful for cleaning between services. We will be able to wipe down chairs, bathrooms and keep the area we need to keep clean limited to the gym, bathrooms and entry level. With children’s ministry being impossible to social distance we will not be having Nursery or Tree House Kidmin while we worship in the gym. We encourage you, if you have little kids to bring a blanket, lay it down on the floor in front of you and if you need to bring toys or activities to help please feel free to do so.
When it comes to communion, we will not be passing trays. We will have several stations set up using our “double cup” method, we will provide about 10 minutes near the end of the service during songs where you may go to one of the unoccupied stations and pick up your communion.
With offering as well, we will not be passing the trays. We will have drop boxes near the doors where we encourage you to leave your offering. You may also choose to give online, or send a check in the mail.
Our greeters will hold the doors, but we will not be shaking hands for a while. We want you to know, we encourage you to take this at your own pace. If you need time and want to worship at home, that’s fine, if you are ready to come in person, we are here for you. We are doing our best to be understanding and supportive as we seek to grow in our faith together.
Thanks Church, we look forward to seeing you!
